Theodore Arm

Audiences across the world have responded with warmth and excitement to the artistry of the violinist Theodore Arm.

Theodore Arm has delighted audiences throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia with his artistry.

He has appeared as soloist, recitalist and guest artist with well-known organizations such as The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.

In 2011 Mr. Arm conducted Master classes in Seoul and performed as a guest artist at the opening concert of the Chamber Music Hall at the Seoul Arts Center.  He has been a member of the highly acclaimed chamber group TASHI since 1976 and has performed with Lukas Foss, Chick Corea and Gary Burton throughout Europe and Asia. He has had several works written for him, including a violin chamber suite by Gabriela Frank that he premiered at Carnegie Hall in November 2004.  In May 2007 he concertized in Poland and Russia during a two-week tour at the invitation of the Moscow Conservatory.

Mr. Arm is a favorite with summer chamber music festival audiences. He is a regular featured artist at Chamber Music Northwest in Portland, Oregon and Music from Angel Fire, New Mexico. He has taught and performed at the Kneisel Hall Chamber Music School in Blue Hill, Maine,The Sarasota Music Festival and the Killington Vermont Music Festival. Mr. Arm has taken part in performances and chamber music coaching seminars at the Moon Beach Festival in Okinawa and performed solo and chamber music concerts in Tokyo,Japan.

Mr. Arm is an Emeritus Professor at the University of Connecticut and a 2010 recipient of the prestigious Lifetime Achievement award from the School of Fine Arts. He is currently Adjunct Professor of Violin at Connecticut College in New London. He holds a Doctorate in Performance from The Juilliard School, where he studied with Christine Dethier and Joseph Fuchs.
