Our 25th anniversary season ended with a burst of excitement as we presented eight extraordinary musicians who performed the works of Richard Strauss, Bartok, and others. The concert’s finale was one of the best loved works in the chamber music repertoire: the extraordinary Mendelssohn Octet.  It was a fabulous conclusion to our first quarter century and we thank you!

Violinist Chee-Yun’s flawless technique, dazzling tone and compelling artistry have enraptured audiences on five continents. Charming, charismatic and deeply passionate about her art, Chee-Yun continues to carve a unique place for herself in the ever-evolving world of classical music.

Audiences throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and Japan have responded with warmth and excitement to the artistry of the violinist Theodore Arm.

The violinist Aaron Boyd was born in Pittsburgh, where he began playing the violin at the age of seven. He graduated in 2000 from the Juilliard School, where he studied with Sally Thomas and was coached by Harvey Shapiro.

Kikuei Ikeda, violinist, was born in Yokosuka and studied violin at the Toho Academy of Music with Saburo Sumi and Josef Gingold, and chamber music with Hideo Saito.

Taiwanese-American violist Che-Yen Chen has established himself as an active performer and is a founding member of the Formosa Quartet.

Violist Dimitri Murrath began his musical education at the Yehudi Menuhin School studying with Natalia Boyarsky, and went on to work in London with David Takeno at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Cellist Wilhelmina Smith has been awarded a 2015-2016 McKnight Artist Fellowship for Performing Musicians administered by MacPhail Center for Music.

Cellist Edward Arron has garnered recognition worldwide for his elegant musicianship, impassioned performances, and creative programming. A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mr. Arron made his New York recital debut in 2000 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
