Cellist Edward Arron is internationally celebrated for his elegant musicianship, passionate performances, and artistic leadership across major venues, festivals, and chamber music series throughout North America, Europe, and Asia.
Cellist Edward Arron is known worldwide for his elegant musicianship, passionate performances, and imaginative programming. A Cincinnati native, he made his New York recital debut at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 2000 and has since appeared in major venues across North America, Europe, and Asia as a soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician.
The 2024–25 season marks Arron’s 12th year as co-artistic director of the Performing Artists in Residenceseries at the Clark Art Institute in Massachusetts, alongside his wife, pianist Jeewon Park. He tours and records with the acclaimed Ehnes String Quartet and regularly performs with premier ensembles and series, including the Boston and Seattle Chamber Music Societies, Brooklyn Chamber Music Society, Bargemusic, Caramoor, and Seoul Spring Festival. He has played at festivals such as Ravinia, Tanglewood, Salzburg, Spoleto USA, La Jolla SummerFest, and Kuhmo (Finland), and has collaborated with Yo-Yo Ma’s Silk Road Project and Isaac Stern’s Jerusalem Chamber Music Encounters.
His extensive discography includes Beethoven: Complete Works for Cello and Piano, recorded with Jeewon Park and released on Aeolian Classics, which earned the Samuel Sanders Collaborative Artists Award.
From 2007 to 2022, Arron served as Artistic Director of Musical Masterworks in Old Lyme, CT. He previously led the Metropolitan Museum Artists in Concert, USCB Chamber Music Series (2009–2021), and Chamber Music on Main in Columbia, SC (2009–2018).
Arron began cello studies at age seven and trained with Peter Wiley and Harvey Shapiro at The Juilliard School. A dedicated educator, he joined the faculty at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2016, after serving at NYU for seven years.
